Reunions...

What has food, family, nose-licking and giant grasshoppers? That would be my family reunion of course. This is an annual event in Hunt, Tx on the Guadalupe River. It is not like your ordinary reunion since there are so many generations that attend. And since one of my bff's married my cousin (wow, that sounds white trashy) it is always a good time! I also got to see my little sis who just got engaged...she's all grows up! Please excuse the shirtless little boy and see the pics...

The giant grasshopper and Christian's hand as a reference. Just uploading this pic gives me creeps all over again.

My cutie-pie cousin and my adorable hubby sticking their tongues up their nostrils. Good times!

Now onto other events. We "reunited" if you will with some of our best friends in San Antonio after the family reunion. Hopped on I-10 and an hour later we were there celebrating my friend Heidi's b-day. She's a new mom and they didn't have a babysitter so we stayed in and I cooked a mean dinner for her instead...Since you asked I'll tell you what I made: homemade chicken tenders with various dipping sauces, homemade mac-n-cheese, fresh greens beans, mixed salad with ranch and rolls!! It was pretty durn good if I do say so myself. She's the type that likes pizza and chicken nuggets so it was right up her alley. Oh, and check out the baby - friggin adorable. One more thing. I told Christian I would waive the 50-minute massage he owed me for guessing who the "Hick from French Lick" was (Larry Bird, duh) if he would change one of the baby's dirty diapers. Let's just say I still have a Swedish rub-down in my immediate future. :)

Birthday girl and adorable baby.

Super-chic sandals given to b-day girl from yours truly.

Snapshot taken just after I retained rights to my massage...he barely kept down his lunch. Repeated gagging and eye-watering.

Ok, the last reunion happened today. I had lunch with some old high school friends. We haven't all been in the same room together since the 90's. That's right. It was a moment I truly thought would never happen, but it was FANTASTIC!! Just like you had hoped it would be - lots of conversation and laughing! Oh and birthday serenade. Hee hee.
